Quick Update: What's brewing with Dapps!

I've been investing most of my time on building a basic dapp using a private blockchain running on my local machine. I must say, there's quite a helpful community out there trying to figure out the best and the most convenient tools that'd help pace up dapp development.
Here's what I could live with. First, to build a dapp, you'd require an implementation that you want to settle with. I personally chose the Ethereum blockchain, for the reason that it has an active development going on at an aggressive manner. The community provides you with a main network that's something like a production network where you'd be charged on every transaction basis. There's a testnet that you can try out for testing your dapps before deploying them to the mainnet.

But even the testnet poses a problem. It's huge. And you'd need to download the whole ledger to test your dapp. There comes the local blockchain implementation of the ethereum blockchain to save us! Basically, you could just use the testrpc protocol to run a blockchain on your local machine. Well, testrpc is now under the umbrella of ganache-cli, so you could very well use that. The implementation provides you with 10 dummy blockchain accounts/miners with a wallet balance of 100 ethers each.

Okay, so we have our network setup, what's next? The code for the dapp! Ethereum makes it even more interesting by providing a framework that lets you learn from the examples and build your own dapps thereafter. Truffle is the framework we need! There's a good collection of truffle boxes you can learn from and start implementing your own dapps piece by piece. After you're done building, just deploy it on your local network and test your dapp on your local machine. Just so hassle free!

Pardon me for not going into the details at the moment. I'd have loved to! I'm just too tired and sleepy at the moment, just wanted to jot down what my experience has been over the past 2 weeks struggling with the right mix of setup I should have to start building my dapps. And now that I have it, I can say it's going pretty good! ;) Anyway, I'll probably put up a gif or video of my first dapp that works! Rest assured, I'm pretty determined to provide details on what every piece of the setup is responsible for and how you could start building your own dapps from scratch.

I'll try to put up the gif/video as soon as possible.
Till then, cheers to the decentralised architecture!
